Different Belief Systems views on Government

Major belief systems such as Legalism, Confucianism, Hinduism, and Daoism all had different views on how the government should be run. Legalism believed that a strong government is one with strict laws and harsh punishments. One ruler of China that ruled with legalist beliefs is Shi Huangdi. Shi Huangdi started construction of the great wall, and constructed the terra cotta army with which he was buried. Confucianism believed that a government should lead by example. A good leader leads with virtue and teaches his people to follow in his footsteps. The Hinduist view on government is directly related to the caste system. They believed that people's place in the caste system depended directly on their job. Daoists opposed government all together. They believed that the best government was one that governed the least. That is how different belief systems believed in runing the government.
