Larry Craig

Throughout history people have been against the government. No matter how strong you will still have some that resist. Some take these to the extreme and accuse government officials of things they haven't done. However in the case of Idaho Senator, Larry Craig, he is not yet proven guilty. However he initially "pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge in August" according to an article on CNN. In World History we study the gender roles in ancient times. These roles still continue on today, in this fact the men still majoritize the government.

Syncretism in Buddhism

When Buddhism spread throughout Asia it needed to adapt to cultures in order to be accepted. Syncretism is "the attempted reconciliation or union of different or opposing principles, practices, or parties, as in philosophy or religion" as stated by dictionary.com. One way they accomodated cultures needs was by changing ritual locations and teachings. Some rituals now incorporated new gods that were originally from the new locations. One example is when Buddhism spread to Japan and incorporated gods that they already being worshipped in Japanese culture such as the sun and moon god. In India new Buddhist culture also adapted their gods and dieties and thier indigenous values.

Different Belief Systems views on Government

Major belief systems such as Legalism, Confucianism, Hinduism, and Daoism all had different views on how the government should be run. Legalism believed that a strong government is one with strict laws and harsh punishments. One ruler of China that ruled with legalist beliefs is Shi Huangdi. Shi Huangdi started construction of the great wall, and constructed the terra cotta army with which he was buried. Confucianism believed that a government should lead by example. A good leader leads with virtue and teaches his people to follow in his footsteps. The Hinduist view on government is directly related to the caste system. They believed that people's place in the caste system depended directly on their job. Daoists opposed government all together. They believed that the best government was one that governed the least. That is how different belief systems believed in runing the government.

hello

Hi, I'm Shannon. Welcome to my blog!!! I am currently studying AP world history. Social studies is my favorite subject because it is the only subject with depth. Math and English has a right and wrong and no room for interpretation. However in social studies it is written records of times that have happened. However nooone was there to witness it, so therefore there is room for interpretation. I hope you enjoy my blog!
